Ceremonies of Remembering is how we understand learning at Reimagined Learning Community. Inspired by Sankofa, it is a practice of returning for the wisdom, relationships, and ways of knowing that modern systems have buried, fragmented, or pushed to the margins. We see learning as a process of reconnection, to body, land, ancestry, community, imagination, and spirit.

In practice, this means creating spaces where learning can happen through dialogue, reflection, grief, play, ritual, experimentation, and deep listening. We host journeys, circles, gatherings, and community encounters that honour the intelligence held in children, elders, story, silence, and the living world. Rather than treating learning as performance or accumulation, we tend it as a sacred, relational, and restorative act. A way of coming back to ourselves, to one another, and to life.

Ceremonies of Remembering

Our offerings move through Ceremonies of Remembering, Web-Based Offerings, and Land-Based Offerings: gatherings, festivals, dialogues, rituals, virtual circles, workshops, and immersive experiences that invite families, young people, educators, and communities to remember learning as something older than school, rooted in Ubuntu, story, land, ancestry, creativity, self-direction, and collective care.
